Southard Ranches is situated on more than 12,000 acres with lush meadows next to a meandering creek, wide open grazing pastures and beautiful tree lined bluffs.
Along with our highly experienced ranch management team, Southard Ranches produces top quality, registered Black Angus cattle for heifer replacements, exceptional herd sires, and donor services. The ranch is also home to our quarterhorse breeding program that includes some of the more sought after genetics in racing and in the barrel pen.
Our mission is to offer exceptional livestock to our customers and clients through proven genetics, superior bloodline crosses and proven ranching techniques.
Southard Ranches is located just outside of Wheatland, Wy. This area has been a thriving agricultural area since the late 1880’s. In the early days, the ranch was host to the Middle Cottonwood schoolhouse and farmed wheat along with cattle. While many improvements have been added to the ranch over the years, several of the homestead buildings remain and where renovated with loving care as tribute to the history of this beautiful area.
Today, Southard Ranches proudly continues the ranching ways of this area raising Registered Black Angus cattle and elite performance horses.
Our newest project is the construction of several new barns and training facilities scheduled for completion in Fall 2020.
